About Letters to Berk
Hi! I’m Christie.
I’ve been told I have a Type A personality but the creativity of a Type B. I’d say that’s 100% accurate, and that’s why I love calligraphy. Calligraphy is a structured art that lends itself to creative liberties, leading to endless different styles — the perfect art for me.
After over a decade of feeding my creative hunger by painting with oils, acrylics, and watercolor, I found calligraphy in 2019. I quickly became consumed, practicing on a daily basis out of joy, and gaining skills and experience along the way.
the why
I started Letters to Berk in 2021 because I knew calligraphy was something that fueled my soul, and I wanted to share that passion with others. Nothing compares to the spark of joy I see in those who interact with my art, taking with them cherished treasures and memorable experiences.
Shared with my creative background are 10 years of sales, operations, and corporate event planning, skills that have inspired me to work directly with brands to enhance their brand identity through my services. When your clients receive a glass with their name hand -engraved, or your staff attend an appreciation dinner where your company has gone above and beyond with the details, they are building meaningful connections to your brand.
who is berk?
The name Letters to Berk is a tribute to my dog, Berkeley, who tragically and unexpectedly passed away in 2015 when she was hit by a car at only 2 years old. I loved her dearly, and incorporating her memory not only into my business, but my passion, allows me to honor her memory.
